Article requests : An additional, freely-licensed graphic, possibly showing a modern photo of a group of representative members would add reader interest.
Citing sources : Most fraternity articles would benefit from additional citations, especially new or updated references. These could be from the original Greek Letter Organization reference, Baird's manual (last edition published in 1991), or the online Baird's Manual Archive, or a notable publication or book such as a unique or interesting citation from a university yearbook (please add missing collegiate yearbooks to this source!), or an official university portal (~website) listing for the group, or where the school comments publicly on that student organization. When citing the online Baird's Manual Archive, look for a society within each of the sections, and check if it is listed on the page for a particular institution. Here is a reference template:

Maintain : Set a calendar reminder to update the chapter list and otherwise check the article for necessary updates, annually.
Update : If calling out specific chapters in the body text, italicize the name of the chapter. Wikipedia practice within the F&S Project is that the word "chapter" is not capitalized, while the name of the chapter is. The Controversies section is too detailed and takes too much space compared with the rest of the article, and unfairly frames the entire national as if these suspensions or closures were systemic; notes about an individual chapter's closure or suspension ought to be rendered as a reference note for that particular chapter unless the event generated notable, persistent national news.
Wikify : Confirm the physical address (including the ZIP code field) and website. Annually, confirm the number of chapters and number of lifetime members. Expand the History section to include milestones - it's still a bit lean. A table may also be used to showcase notable members, but be sure to add Inclusion Rules to avoid vanity listings.

The date of March 5, 1858 was listed as a founding date. DTD has no record of one date registered for the founding, but celebrates 1858 as the founding year. For some time, 1859 was hypothesized as a founding year (and can be seen on older version of the coat of arms). A fire in Bethany College's main building led to many records being destroyed, along with the fact that the founding chapter was disbanded after only a few years as a result of the Civil War. The public motto of Delta Tau Delta has been since initial inception -- "Labor for the Beautiful and the Good." Note the Fraternity's own website for this reference at http://www.delts.org/about/kershner.html (last part of article.)
In the 1990s, as part of a newly adopted curricula of values education for members, the Fraternity embraced a mission statement -- "Committed to Lives of Excellence" -- but has never altered its motto.
In the current official version of the Fraternity's Coat of Arms, the words "Delta Tau Delta" appear on the heraldic ribbon where -- in other achievements of arms -- a motto might go. In Delta Tau Delta's unique case, the spelled out Greek letters refer to the hidden meaning of the Fraternity, and are not its official public motto.
In 2009, Delta Tau Delta undertook yet another communications / brand refresh and currently uses the phrase "Letters of Distinction. Lives of Excellence." as its marketing slogan -- and yet, the historic official motto, "Labor for the Beautiful and the Good", remains unchanged. I am separating the mission and public motto as they are quite confusing. Committed to lives of excellence is our mission, not motto. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.249.193.194 (talk) 14:51, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In what sense is DTD secret? As our own pictures show, they have dedicated houses displaying their letters. They're not a secret society or anything. Is is that the meaning of their letters is secret? That's not unique among fraternities and sororities. --BDD (talk) 23:55, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We are a secret society, we have rituals and practices and a whole wide range of stuff that non members don't know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.91.95.92 (talk) 19:55, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That is not unusual for Greek organizations (ie having rituals and practice). Groups that are called secret societies tend to never publish member lists or alumni updates and pledge lists, and don't have events open to non-members. Rublamb (talk) 02:16, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
