SNL 2009

He was introduced as "DWayne Johnson." Maybe he is changing his stage name for career reasons.

I think Don Pardo (SNL announcer) mispronounced his name. He's getting on in years, you know. fRONTSIDE 09:53, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Height and weight

Why the hell won't his height and weight infos appear? Rugal (talk) 00:48, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Because they're not recognised parameters in Template:Infobox Actor. Besides, if you look here in the infobox further down the page, you'll see its listed there, where it's more relevant. Having it twice in two separate infoboxes would be redundant. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 20:31, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Sunny as his manager

Somebody stated that Sunny managed The Rock at somepoint of his career, which is incorrect. I did read somewhere though that she was to manage him but was released before doing so. Perhaps (if a source is needed and found) we could add it to her wiki page. Raphie (talk) 13:27, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

im pretty sure she managed him at a house show i went to years ago, but i heard the next day sunny got fired, so i think because it was never televised then it doesnt count —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.218.62.193 (talk) 18:26, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Move

I think it'd be best to rename this page The Rock, or at least Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson," as he is better known as The Rock. The Edit Corrector 2:20, 23 November 2008

You might want to take a look at this discussion, where this was discussed exhaustively earlier this year prior to the move to its current name. Tony Fox (arf!) 23:48, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Samoan Tattoo

When exactly did he get that Samoan tattoo on his left shoulder, and was it there later on in 2003? Also, does he still have it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.68.195.149 (talk) 21:55, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

He still has it. When he appeared on The Tonight Show a couple of months ago he was wearing a shirt which let you see the some of the tattoo. TJ Spyke 21:49, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

DAG

The first I saw of The Rock in a scripted episodic appearance was on David Alan Grier's sitcom with the In Living Color veteran as a member of the Secret Service relegated to the "B Team" (First Lady duty) after messing up on POTUS duty. It was a short scene, but he made an episode of it. (my next sighting of him: Voyager) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.252.198.232 (talk) 03:28, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Tooth Fairy (film)

I've been reading online that he is in a movie called "Tooth Fairy", playing a hockey player. It's supposed to be released in November, but I don't see it anywhere on Wikipedia. Shouldn't someone add it to his filmography box? CollisionCourse (talk) 10:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Yep, it's true. Be bold and go ahead and put it there. --Montgomery' 39 (talk) 13:31, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

When is this movie being released? Some websites say November 13, 2009, others say January 22, 2010. CollisionCourse (talk) 02:57, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Canadian?

Why is he listed as a Canadian American? He isnt Canadian!LifeStroke420 (talk) 19:29, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Actually now he is Canadian. Canada's citizenship laws changed on April 17, 2009. The new citizenship law that came into effect automatically gave/restored citizenship to anyone born outside of Canada in the first generation abroad to a Canadian parent. Citizenship is retroactive to date of birth/date citizenship was lost. Johnson's father, Rocky Johnson, was born in Canada and is a Canadian citizen. Dwayne Johnson is therefore also a Canadian citizen since he was born outside of Canada in the first generation abroad to a Canadian father. This is cited in the personal life and politics section of the biography section. Here are the sources.
Official website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, which explains the new law.

This is from the FAQ section of the official website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, which explains who became Canadian citizens under the new law.

Official website of Rocky Johnson (Dwayne's father), which verifies that he (Rocky) was born in Canada and is a Canadian citizen.

Well that explains it thanks for clearing it up.LifeStroke420 (talk) 04:03, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Yep he is Canadian now by law unless he applies for, and then receives, his certificate of Canadian citizenship, and then renounces his Canadian citizenship, which is unlikely, then he is Canadian citizenship retroactive to birth. (24.62.100.100 (talk) 20:03, 15 May 2009 (UTC))

Quote:"automatically gave/restored citizenship to anyone born outside of Canada in the first generation abroad to a Canadian parent"

That is not actually correct. It restores citizenship to those born outside Canada between January 1, 1947, and February 14, 1977 to a Canadian citizen. This covers Duane Johnson, but your description was incorrect.

And his Dad's web site would certainly not be any kind of "verification" of citizenship. A Canadian Citizenship certificate issued by the government of Canada would verify his status as a Canadian citizen.

You don't prove your citizenship in any nation by pointing out your website.LOL!(24.62.100.100 (talk) 06:26, 21 May 2009 (UTC))

First off, the official website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada simply states that the person had to be born after January 1, 1947. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules.asp
Yes, the law automatically gave/restored citizenship to anyone born outside of Canada in the first generation abroad to a Canadian citizen. However, there are certain instances on the official website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada where they simplify the language. For example, "born abroad to a Canadian." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2008/2008-04-16.asp
There is another example on the site that uses the following, "born outside Canada to a Canadian parent." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/citizenship/cit-rules-faq09.asp
Lastly, the website is listed for anyone doubting that he was born to a Canadian citizen parent. Instead of simply stating that his father is a Canadian citizen, I have provided his father's website as a source, which states that he (Rocky Johnson) is Dwayne Johnson's father and he (Rocky Johnson) was born in Canada and is Canadian (since Rocky was born in Canada he is a Canadian citizen, and his son's birth abroad makes Dwayne a citizen as well, since he is in the first generation born abroad.) Moreover, to prove citizenship to any country would require specific documents like a birth certificate or citizenship certificate. However, if you look at the sources for anybody's biography on Wikipedia, you will not find many (if any at all) which actually provide those documents as the sources for that particular person's citizenship. Instead, reliable websites, articles, etc. are accepted as sources since there is little chance of providing those personal documents.
Well, hope that clears everything up. Scanadiense (talk) 09:17, 21 May 2009

"First off, the official website of Citizenship and Immigration Canada simply states that the person had to be born after January 1, 1947" Damn then now the whole world is Canadian.70.15.191.119 (talk) 17:22, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Smackdown

It says on WWE.com that he as a speical message this week on smackdown. I was surprised that it hasen't been mentions but i'm sure theres "a good reason" by those who seem to think they own wikipedia so i'm just asking why it's not mentions and the sorce is obvioly not going to be reliable in there eyes even though we all know it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.21.192.131 (talk) 21:17, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

retirement and part time wwe appearances

"In September 2009, Johnson appeared at a World Xtreme Wrestling show in order to support longtime friend and mentor Jimmy Snuka's daughters debut in professional wrestling."

Though extremely interesting and done after his retirement this section is meant for his retired appearances in the WWE and WXW isn't the WWE —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.15.191.119 (talk) 17:18, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

November 18, 2009, Johnson appeared on the Jack Diamond Show, where Jack asked The Rock whether or not if he would like to work with the WWE again. The Rock replied he would love to work for WWE whether is cutting a promo or hosting WWE Raw, and would love something more to give back to the fans <www.wrestlezone.com/news/vince-lindas-worth-the-rock-working-with-wwe-again-90823>.

Incorrect Image Title

The image Dany_Garcia_and_Dwayne_The_Rock_Johnson_2009_Tribeca.jpg is used with the title "Dany Garcia and Johnson at the 2009 premiere of Racing Dreams" - with Racing Dreams being an invalid link. It seems fairly clear that the image and the title are not the same, as Dwayne is standing behind signs of "Tribeca film festival". Yes, you're correct. The image was in fact taken at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, and I've fixed the caption accordingly. Thanks, ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 11:36, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

final villain turn

where it is titled as final villain turn under section 2.7 of the article, shouldnt that say final heel turn, its like that in most other wrestling articles, i dont see why there is a double standard here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.218.62.193 (talk) 18:15, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Laying the Smackdown

Shouldn't this be included under "Signature Moves"? It does resemble the "Johnson Shuffle" listed under his dad's article(3 left jabs, followed by a right hook), so I'm guessing it's to honour his father or something. 202.156.14.101 (talk) 17:02, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

If you can provide a reliable source for the move, then if can be added. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 10:20, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Family Guy Episode

I may have missed it somewhere, but he was in the January 3, 2010 episode of Family Guy Big Man on Hippocampus. Would someone who knows what they're doing want to add it to the filmography? Kjscotte34 (talk) 01:36, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Suppossedly Peter Griffin lost his memory. Lois re-teached him about sex, but with the jokes about the FCC, Seth MacFarlane got The Rock to play with Family Guy dolls. The Rock holded a Peter doll and kept banging it on a Lois doll. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.108.211.178 (talk) 18:56, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

There's an unconfirmed rumor that someone from Iowa found The Rock's Brahma Bull belt in their mail. I don't know whether it is true or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.108.211.178 (talk) 18:53, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Personal life section

Johnson and Dany divorced in April 2007 yet someone wrote "his wife" on an event that happened in October 2007. Either this was a mistake or Dwayne married someone again without me knowing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.108.211.178 (talk) 19:01, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Proper information

  • Some of the information on the rock's early WWF career is false such as his second Intercontinental championship reign. It said on a old revision that Austin was forced to forfeit the Intercontinental title to the rock but Austin did it of out of he own free will. --Whitmore 8621 (talk) 13:38, 22 April 2010 (UTC)Whitmore 8621

Popularity as The Rock

Could the person who keeps deleting the top section of the article which states the rock's popularity in WWE please explain why? If you are not a fan then that is fine however the fact that Dwayne Johnson was the rock and was one of the most famous and popular wrestlers in WWF/E should be stated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Otto360 (talkcontribs) 16:17, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

  • No, it shouldn't. Do you see that on Undertaker's page? Or John Cena's page? Or Triple H's page? It's not necessary, in fact it is common sense that Rock was over with wrestling fans and is a globablly known man. --98.113.134.30 (talk) 15:31, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

The Rock Profile

The Rock's status on the page from 2002/2003 does not mention all of his things like it does not say anything about being drafted to Smackdown or taking time off to promote the Scorpion King or coming bacl to Raw after Steve Austin got fired.

Why has this not been added Look can someone tell me why? I am sick of false information on his page and removing facts that are sourced. At least, its not confirmed yet. Don't post rumors as facts. Miami on June 7th is just a rumor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.159.58 (talk) 21:19, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Youngest WWF Champion of all time (pre-Brock Lesnar)

Are you guys sure? According to Yokozuna's D.O.B in his article, Johnson was beaten to the pip by around two weeks of age. Either the D.O.B is false or the WWF/E just flat-out refused to acknowledge this? Strykie-boy (talk) 17:00, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
