2nd creation ?[edit]

How is justified the so-called 2nd creation of this title since William le Gros was the son of Stephen and that he was at least 13 y.o. at his father's death ? --PurpleHz 19:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split between the french title and the english peerage[edit]

There is not a word on the split between the two titles, when in 1194, the french king Philip II took the title off William de Fortibus, and granted it to Renaud de Dammartin, in 1204, after he took back the Normandy from John Ier. --PurpleHz 19:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

reason for Albemarle 4th creation[edit]

Apparently it is a family tradition that Albemarle was chosen by Keppel because of a similarity with Dutch place name 'Aumerle'  : http://www.albemarle150.com/pages.moderndayearl/letter.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.207.7.111 (talk) 23:42, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
