Existence[edit]

In trying to check this community name against official records, Eastvale is not listed in official records including the US Geological Survey, Geographic Names Information System and the US Postal Service ZIP Code data. It is listed on the Riverside County Fire Department web site as having a fire station. There is also a school with a variant name of Eastvale School in the USGS gazeteer. This is normal for a small community, I think. User:David Jordan

I agree with everything you said, David. During my research, I found it difficult to gather accurate data wrt to demographics, areas, etc. due to Eastvale's fledgling status. It does have one fire station, and three elementary schools. It also has the specific area plan as created by the county. And, I suppose, a small nod of Eastvale's existence was accomplished by the recent inclusion as a community in the 2007 Thomas Guide atlas, Riverside county page 683. See pages 7 and 68 in "A Brief History of Eastvale" by Loren P Meissner (me) and Kim Jarrell Johnson (History Press, 2013). The first use of the name Eastvale (usually East Vale in early days) as a place name in California, so far as I have been able to find, was in a report of a meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the proposed County of Riverside. They met in the city of Riverside CA on 4 April 1893, to prepare for expected approval of a forthcoming election 2 May 1893. The election resulted in detaching portions of San Bernardino and San Diego Counties to form the new Riverside County. A report of this meeting appears on pp. 137-138 of [1] One action at the meeting was establishment of 52 elementary school districts in the county (one of which had two sections - hence some reports mention 53 districts). "East Vale" was one of these districts. Classes began in fall 1893, and within 3 years "East Vale" schoolhouse had been constructed at a location which is now the southeast corner of Harrison and Chandler Avenues, where a historical marker was placed in July 2014. The elementary school district existed till 1947 when it was merged into Corona (later Corona-Norco) Unified School District. As for the name of the city, Page 124 of "A Brief History of Eastvale" explains that "In October 2006, the residents ... began exploring the idea of incorporation." Several names, including "Corona Valley" were suggested, but an "Eastvale Incorporation Committee," formed in 2007, seems to have been responsible for finally naming the city that was incorporated in October 2010. Mr. Clark: good work. I missed this community when I was rifling through the 2004 county General Plan. Snow Creek Village is another one that needs an article. User:David Jordan 11/15/2006.

Thanks, David. I haven't even heard of Snow Creek Village. Is this also in Riverside County? Brien Clark 02:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Corona Valley?[edit]

Does anyone know the boundaries of Corona Valley? I have been told the term is synonymous with Eastvale, but I won't include this in the article unless someone can help substantiate it. Brien Clark 02:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Corona Valley-Jurupa Valley complex is transfluid, which means there is no official designated boundaries to what is the "Corona Valley". Residents are attempting to incorporate either as Eastvale or the entire Jurupa Valley (the towns of Mira Loma, Pedley and Rubidoux) into a city that would be home to over 80,000 residents. In the mid 2000's, Eastvale along with nearby towns of Norco, Corona, and the Southwest quadrant of Riverside County attempted to form a new county, Corona County. The residents seem to have issues being under the jurisdiction of Riverside County (and San Bernardino County), but to maintain unincorporated status would be ideal for real estate values and less taxes to be paid not being a city government or under any city for that matter. Being born and raised in Indio in Riverside county, I noticed this is a new edge-city where it was once the remaining agricultural space, while the majority of land in the Inland Empire was nearly built out in the 1980s and '90s, therefore Eastvale wishes to preserve it's rural-suburban character without interference from nearby cities or the two counties Eastvale or (it's contested proposed city name) lies on. + 71.102.32.144 (talk) 08:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics question[edit]

Whoever just updated the demographics section, 75.43.210.6, probably forgot to sign on. While the figures seem reasonable, I am curious how they were obtained from FactFinder since Eastvale is not a CDP. I cannot reproduce the results, and if they cannot be further substantiated, I will revert the edit. Thanks Brien ClarkTalk 03:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

why is there no section of conflict of incorporation[edit]

currently eastvale has a conflict in its incorporation attempts. currently there is a boundary dispute with its community service district that is also trying to incorporate. the area of conflict is between the 15 freeway and Milliken ave. this should be posted here because, this is the major issue that eastvale is having. right now they have a boundary dispute with jurupa csd who is also trying to incorporate.Javiern (talk) 05:57, 2 October 2009 (UTC) check riverside lafco for any current news also check out eastvales incorporation committee and jurupas incorporation committee[reply]

The City of Eastvale should take effect by the end of December 2009. It would become the 27th incorporated city in Riverside County and home to over 60,000 residents. The plan to have the entire Jurupa Valley become a city as well can mean the 28th city and with a population of 74,000. The unincorporated areas of Riverside county seen rapid population growth in recent years such as Romoland, California and Rancho California regions to hold about 90,000 residents if they are incorporated cities. + 71.102.3.86 (talk) 03:39, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, Eastvale is not scheduled to officially incorporate until October 1. Please do not make changes to this article, changing "community" to "city" until that time. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (talk) 10:17, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to HISTORY section[edit]

I added subsection "Before 1954" at the beginning of the History section. Many blogs and other reports describe the history of Eastvale as beginning around 1970 when a lot of dairies moved from Los Angeles and Orange Counties under post-WW2 population pressure. I knew there was a live community there at least as early as 1928 when my family moved to Riverdale Acres (which was within East Vale School District even then, but ended up in Jurupa Valley when incorporation lines were drawn in 2010-2011). I attended East Vale School (the second incarnation, on Sumner Ave from 1913-1958) from 1934 till 1941. I co-authored (with Kim Johnson) "A Brief History of Eastvale) in 2013 and authored a sequel "Fuller Ranch at Eastvale" in 2014. (References to both of these are shown in my added paragraphs.)
