Redirect???[edit]

It seems insane to redirect this character article to the main I Love Lucy article when there has to be plenty of room for expansion for this character who is recognized by people born decades after the show stopped original production. Anyone with me on this? --NMChico24 10:52, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, User:NMChico24, I agree with you. This article about Ethel Mertz should lead to Ethel Mertz, not I Love Lucy. --LucilleBall 22:36, 6 Nov 2008 (UTC)

"Yes, I see your point of view, but Ethel Mertz is a character in "I Love Lucy" played by Vivian Vance.

Merger proposal[edit]

All Fred and Ethel did are being sidekicks of Ricky and Lucy Ricardo. How are they notable individually? I don't think the big fish thing in Miami (or Europe) can make Fred and Ethel individually notable as they are together. Also, there were conflicts between Frawley and Vance, so Fred and Ethel must merge together. What do you think? --George Ho (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely NOT! Fred and Ethel were individual characters and should remain such on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpwnyc (talkcontribs) 19:43, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see both your point of views, but I'll have to agree with George Ho on this one because if you look at Lucy and Ricky's page, it is merged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.95.222.227 (talk) 05:14, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
