I am reverting this recent edit of the description of Lee's criticism of Clarence Thomas in 1991. Whether or not the criticism was fair or not (which is neither here nor there), simply quoting the most provocative part without context makes is very misleading. If someone feels the status quo wording ("Lee criticized Thomas in a letter to Ohio State University's student newspaper The Lantern, accusing him of discounting the role racism plays in the contemporary difficulties faced by African Americans") doesn't accurately paraphrase the source, let's discuss it here. For convenience, this is what the source says: "In a letter to the Lantern, the school's newspaper, she accused Thomas of only acknowledging the realities of racism when it was convenient for him. Thomas, she wrote, is 'one of that group of black conservatives who feel that black people should focus less on racism and more on self-help.'
