One is about the town and the other about the spring, but both seem to have the same subject matter with the exception that the volume of water coming out of the spring is different in each article. I saw a link in this article to Fontaine de Vaucluse with different photos but basically the same information, which initially was a bit confusing. I think I remember getting the same impression when I first saw the articles. The French counterparts are longer and seem at a glance to be more differentiated. I would guess that a merger discussion would lean towards expanding the article on the village. On the other hand, it does have fewer than 600 residents, which makes me wonder why the French article is so long. Erictalk 09:01, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I find most of the French articles on French Wikipedia have an abundance of information which is very comprehensive and in great detail. The names of the village and source are so similar it might just be more prudent to combine the source and the village into one article considering they have the same name. It would remove the deja vu of seeing another article on the same subject. When I saw the link to the same name I was initially taken aback, with the reaction, there are two articles on the same place! Avi8tor (talk) 19:40, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you could propose a merge. That said, it seems there is some significance to the nature of the spring itself that might warrant, at least in some peoples' view, a standalone article.
