From Eichmann trial, session 27 (4. May 1961) in volume 1

Meir Mark Dworzecki testified : "I remember another name that was often mentioned, a man who always was standing near the "actions," Franz Muerer, who now lives a free man in Austria. He was the deputy Gebietskommissar (Area Commissioner). The Gebietskommissar was Hingst. Muerer was his deputy and the expert, referent on Jewish questions. We read in the press that Muerer is now a free man in Austria and that he has an important post in the agricultural field. Q. Do you know which German unit he belonged to, which formation? A. No. Q. You do not know. Possibly Abba Kovner will know? A. I only know that a few months ago he distributed medals of merit to farmers who had succeeded in their work, and that this was in the presence of the Minister of Justice in Austria. Presiding Judge: You read this in a newspaper? A. Yes. " —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.236.176.158 (talk) 22:57, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No. Franz Murer did not die in 1963, that would be a strange - death soon after of the end of the successful (for him) trial, and younger than 50 years ago.. Оh, if would be it, Mr Simon Wiesenthal no worried about a major failure in own noble work ... According to date of Mr. Leonid Dukhin (ht tp://berkovich-zametki.com/2009/Zametki/Nomer12/Duhin1.php) Franz Murer died in 1995, and buried in native village, "Gaishorn am See" (Austria), at the cemetery near the old Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity (Deutsch: Kath. Kirche Pfarrkirche zur Hl. Dreifaltigkeit ?). At the funeral arrived remaining SS "veterans" and some neo-nazi. At his grave is brief sigh: "Franz Murer 1917-1995". I think this is sufficient reason to change ? Thank you WM and sorry for my English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qwerty-mail (talkcontribs) 20:43, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
