On the notability of the topic of the article[edit]

The topic of the article is "Gamit Ramilaben Raysingbhai" a tribale social worker from Gujarat, India. Principally, her notability arises from the fact that she was honoured with the Padma Shri award by Govt of India for her social work. This is the fourth highest civilian award conferred by Govt of India and the third highest in the Padma series of awards. Every year the award is presented to around a hundred persons only selected from a population of 1.35 billion after an extensive screening process. Complete details of the selection process are available in the Padma Awards portel of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India.[1]

I believe that getting the fourth highest civilian award instituted by the democratically elected Govt of the second most populous country in the world does indeed make the recipient a notable person. Ok. Wikipedia can have its own notions of notability. I strongly feel that the article should be retained. Krishnachandranvn (talk) 13:12, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
