Damage to Nigeria 9/41[edit]

The cruiser did NOT ram Bremse. The damage to her bow has never been satisfactorily explained, since there were no torpedo-equipped ships in the area and no mines had been laid in Svaerholt by any of the belligerents. The damage was remarkably similar in nature and extent to that sustained by the German CL Nürnberg when torpedoed by Salmon in late 1939, leading to the speculation she may have been hit by a British torpedo, but none of the British ships present fired one, therefore we are at a complete loss in trying to explain what actually happenes that day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.78.125.58 (talk) 17:43, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've clarified the entry to mention that while Bremse was sunk by Nigeria, the bow damage may have been caused by a mine, following a source. If you have further references that discuss this in more detail we can add those too, but WP:Verifiability means we need to cite sources when references conflict.
