Ivanka Trump Conversion[edit]

We should probably add that he was the rabbi chosen to do Ivanka Trump's conversion. -NeverWorker (talk) 23:51, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Further explanation needed in "Jewish Conversions" section?[edit]

Specifically, the quote: "It seemed that officials of the Israeli government, which "has traditionally not accepted conversions done in liberal streams of Judaism"

Does this need an additional sentence of explanation on the word "liberal," since we're talking about Orthodox rabbis here? One unfamiliar with the topic might read the word "liberal" and assume "Reform"

Just a question for clarification, thanks Ladam11 (talk) 02:24, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I wondered the same thing as soon as I read it. Apparently, a previous editor selected only half of the explanation provided in the Forward article: more usual is the rejection of "liberal" conversions, but more relevant in this case is the omitted phrase about "conversions by Orthodox rabbis not on its list of approved authorities" mentioned in the subsequent sentence. I corrected it. Martindo (talk) 03:55, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
