Statement which seems inaccurate[edit]

The statement that Baorn Wilson of Langside "remained a Labour supporter for many years until the advent of the SDP", seems not to be entirely accurate. According to The Glasgow Herald, on 30 April 1979, he was one of a few ex-Labour figures who had endorsed the Conservatives in the then forthcoming 1979 United Kingdom general election along with the likes of the former Sheffield MP Edward Griffiths.[1] If this report is correct, then they statement, which does not seem to be cited, would seem to be untrue, although I am not clear if his support for the Conservatives in 1979 was a one-off and he otherwise still supported Labour until the SDP was created in 1981, or if he stopped supporting Labour and actively supported the Conservatives for a period prior to 1981. Without more information I am not sure how best to address this issue in the article. Dunarc (talk) 20:05, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have now made an attempt to work this into the article, but am happy to discuss further if someone thinks it could be put in in a better way or is not needed. Dunarc (talk) 19:31, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
