Remarkable claims, no sources[edit]

There are currently two faux footnotes in the article which are really links to general web pages. The casual reader may be fooled into supposing that this article is partially sourced (indeed I suspect that is the intention: to deceive), but in fact the article currently has no sources whatsoever. It's easy to verify that Herb Bernstein was an arranger and record producer, but I find the assertions that he was also a professional baskeball player and the originator of the "Welcome Back, Kotter" television show premise quite remarkable. I certainly should not be surprised to learn that there was once a professional basketball player named Herbert Bernstein--Herbert Bernstein is after all a very common name--but that wouldn't mean that this Herbert Bernstein necessarily once played professional basketball. The "Welcome Back, Kotter" claims would seem to contradict various Internet sources about the origin of the show's premise. We need sources or these statements must be removed and must stay removed. 11:29, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
