"Gruppenführer" rank in 1916[edit]

The article infobox currently states that Siilasvuo was given the rank Gruppenführer in 1916 from the Imperial German Army. I'm having some trouble with this claim.

First, the linked article Gruppenführer discusses the paramilitary rank of the Nazi party, so on its face at least the link here is wrong: how could a person have obtained, in 1916, a rank created in 1925?

Second, the claim is completely unsourced both here and in fi:Hjalmar Siilasvuo.

Third, the relevant claim in the Finnish article, translated, is as follows: "He obtained the rank of a Gruppenführer, or squad leader". I can't quite figure out whether this is a case of him having been given the exact rank "Gruppenführer", or whether he was put into the position of a group/squad leader, and this then being potentially translated back-and-forth between Finnish and German. For what it's worth, Military ranks of the German Empire does not indicate the existence of such a rank.

I'll remove the linking for now, as it's rather clearly pointing to the wrong place, but I'd appreciate any sources on this to help figure out whether "Gruppenführer" refers to an actual rank or a position.

This was "solved" by rewriting most of the prose in the article using WP:RS, as none of my sources mention the Gruppenfuhrer thing. Ljleppan (talk) 15:33, 11 November 2021 (UTC)-[reply]
