When does the season start?[edit]

Having looked at ESPNcricinfo and CricketArchive, there seems to be a bit of confusion about which series should be included on this page and which should count as part of the 2011 season. According to what I have read, all of the September series (so Pakistan in Zimbabwe, Kenya in the Netherlands, Canada in Ireland, World Cricket League Division 6, West Indies in England, and Scotland in Namibia) should actually be considered part of the 2011 season, not 2011–12. In fact, the only part of the Scotland tour of Namibia that is considered part of 2011-12 is their (unofficial) T20I series. With this in mind, I think we should redefine the 2011-12 season as having taken place from October 2011 to March 2012, not September 2011 to March 2012. – PeeJay 12:13, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was just about to say the same thing. I entirely agree with PeeJay. All the series in September, especially those in England, Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland belong in the northern hemisphere's summer season (i.e., International cricket in 2011). As such this article is entirely misleading and needs to be substantially revised; presumably the same applies to the other articles of this type. I would in any case seriously question the validity of these articles as the concept of global international seasons is something thought up by ESPNcricinfo that does not necessarily comply with national seasons as defined by each country's cricket authorities. ----Jack | talk page 16:20, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
