Djghazadé Sinan Pasha[edit]

The term: Djghazadé is not searchable, likely because of an issue with transliteration. Please put the correctly written term in the alphabet of the original language, or explain what the equivalent title is. Is it a Turkish word? An Iranian? Impossible to know currently, and as Sinan's title was Vizier, it makes this term more confusing here.Youngkyf (talk) 14:01, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

article about nonexistent state[edit]

Do you understand that Armenia was the name of the territory, not the state during that period, and generally always? Sulh220 (talk) 05:00, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New title[edit]

Everyone ok with this new title? I believe the previous title was simply not catchy enough for this era, and not describing the situation well enough. - LouisAragon (talk) 01:14, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why not Persian Armenia?[edit]

Why all this big move from "Persian Armenia" to "Iranian Armenia"? Isn't Iran and Persian same thing? Revert back to Persian Armenia like it was before! Iran does not own the Armenia and if argument is that Persian means Iran then why attach Iran name to Armenia when it was same thing before? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.85.207.42 (talk) 14:52, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

I moved this article from "Iranian Armenia (1502-1828)", because of namings of other provinces of Persia stated in the template {{Safavid Provinces}}.--Wertuose (talk) 08:29, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wetuouse: Umm... there is a little problem; The Safavid dynasty fell in 1736, not 1828. --HistoryofIran (talk) 12:01, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ups. I knew it, but didn't give heed to it when renamed the article. HistoryofIran, but what about the name of the region under the rule of Afshars and Qajars. Is the name Armenia existed as the name of the province at that time or it was different?--Wertuose (talk) 13:44, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wetuouse: Yea it was still a province under them. The provinces remained more or less the same from the Safavids till early Qajars. --HistoryofIran (talk) 13:46, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Very Undeveloped Article[edit]

This article as it stands turns almost entirely around one single episode in the context of the middle of a war. The only agency the Armenians have in it is as victims. Yet it is supposed to cover 326 years of history. If it is about Armenia, it should be about developments in Armenia throughout this period. Even if a contributor did not think that the Iranian royal rule had much benefit, he or she could write what the Armenians were doing. Were there no positive developments or accomplishments at all? What civilizational developments were going on? What demographic developments? Who were the main Armenian writers of the period? Who were the Armenian historians? There must have been local historians with interesting accounts. Has none of that come into English at all? Even if it has not, those of you who know Armenian could read what has already been written and summarize it is a fashion suitable for an encyclopedia. There are of plenty sources about the province in English, it's just that expanding this article is a lot of work. --HistoryofIran (talk) 19:16, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
