I think this might be more of a Wikipedia:WikiProject Archaeology type question, as I have a hard time deciphering whether his achievements make him a notable archaelogist. For what it's worth, my analysis is that there is enough here to say he probably meets the inclusion criteria. However, while there are a lot of cites, the article really needs more 3rd party coverage of the subject. The only listed source that comes close to that is the Virginian Pilot article, and it's more of a minor news item. There are a lot of hits in Google Scholar and books, but they are mostly things written by him, not about him.--Kubigula (talk) 03:19, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Third-party coverage is expected this month and should help prevent deletion. Clarkedailynews.com will announce as early as this week Hranicky’s finding of the oldest calendar above ground site in North America. Subsequent articles will argue there is nothing like this above ground or this old in North America, making this prehistoric site (located in Northern Virginia) of unique national significance and offering a glimpse into a highly developed culture living in Virginia over 12,000 years ago. This month, Hranicky also discovered ancient rock art with hand prints and markings near the site (findings to be published later this year). I think it's worth pointing out that while he is a well-known archaeologist and is probably worthy of an entry, the user who created and has made most of the edits to the page appears to be the landowner of the "site" in question, who has been working directly with Hranicky and is attempting to develop the site as a "sacred retreat", and apparently now (Feb. 16, 2012) as a National Park: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003017123963. (Note: apparently you have to be logged in to Facebook to view this page - called "Oklevueha NativeAmerican Church-Virginia") No publications or professional academic presentations have been made on the site, the features, or the artifacts. Bottom line: references to the Spout Run site should be removed until it can be verified by the peer review process; in the meantime it is probably detrimental to Hranicky's reputation to be associated with such wild claims. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.177.26 (talk) 06:59, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
