Inaccurate[edit]

Aside from the notability concerns about this article (JWs in Sweden do not constitute significant proportion of either people in Sweden or of JWs generally), there are also problems with the claims made in the article. Firstly, there was no group called Jehovah's Witnesses prior to 1931, and the article incorrectly conflates JWs with the Bible Student movement. Secondly, there was never a JW headquarters in Sweden, only a subsidiary branch office. It isn't a 'Swedish movement', but part of the larger organisation. The article follows reliable sources. Assuming good faith, I preserved the SOU's statement about its founding date, while inserting the NE's earlier date. "Movement" is a translation of the Swedish in "NE". The SOU gives roughly the same history without any citations, however. If you cite the SOU (p. 156) for example after using Google translate if you don't know Swedish, then you are welcome to clarify the name change of 1931. is a 20:33, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The details are wrong, as is the claim that (even as the Bible Student movement) the organisation 'started in 1909'. 'JWs in Sweden' isn't a separate 'organisation'. 1909 is simply when the Bible Students arrived in Sweden. There's nothing presented that could not be stated in a single paragraph at Religion in Sweden, but if it is to be retained as a separate article, it's clear that it will need constant supervision.--Jeffro77 (talk) 23:08, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SOU on pacifists[edit]

There are remarkable quotations from earlier government commissions on earlier views of Jehovah's Witnesses---for example comparing them in their suitability for wartime service to alcoholics and asocial persons (p. 156). As with other countries, the history of JW pacificism and conflicts with military service apparently suffices in the case of Sweden for a self-standing article. is a 20:27, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article lacks notability[edit]

Jehovah's Witnesses in Sweden make up 0.28% of Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide and 0.23% of Sweden's population. They are not a significant group in Sweden, and a specific article is not warranted. Tax evasion[edit]

According to the referenced articles above, the real reason for the Scandinavian consolidation/merge of the national branch head offices were due to a tax evasion scheme, where the head office "order" wanted to have all congregations in Sweden treated as monasteries and as such evade any taxation.
