MusicSack also goes with 24 December while listing sources for some other dates (but 1810 to 24 December 1865- not 1869 - seems most likely based on available references etc. Authorities.loc.gov, Grove, etc. I think seem to agree...) Schissel | Sound the Note! 01:11, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Our source tells us he was still publishing literary works in 1869, so he couldn't have died in 1865. It also gives his date of birth, and much other useful information, including his adopting American citizenship, which was a complete surprise to me. I bet most people wouldn't know that Chopin's posthumous opuses were collected, edited and published by an American. -- Jack of Oz[your turn] 11:53, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
