He aha te koha[edit]

I took this out: "He aha te koha?" meaning "What does it cost?" because "He aha te koha" means simply "What is the koha". I'd prefer we had a verified source to back up reading it as "What does it cost" which would normally be said using different words. Kahuroa (talk) 20:57, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I doubt koha would be translated as cost. Koha is a gift, and in my experience koha for the same event/situation also varies depending upon the financial resources of the person giving koha. In certain circumstances saying "thank-you" may be suffficient koha from someone who is otherwise stretched financially. But I am a European, so this reflects my modern-day pakeha POV, There may be differences among more traditional Maori. 121.73.7.84 (talk) 22:17, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
