Applicability[edit]

Two things that go unmentioned in the current article.

First, the 1902 code was amended by "Lov 12 juni 1981 nr. 62.", which should be included.
Second, the 1902 penal code was copiously revised in 2005.

The article should explain whether the new code carried over the older charges with their amendments or if they were simply superceded and are no longer valid. — LlywelynII 22:10, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.

Whilst I have not followed the process surrounding the 2005 code, I know that the King has not made the entire code effective. Only section 16 is effective. For all other cases the 1902 code is still in force. One saw this in 2012, when 22 July terrorist Anders Breivik received 21 years of prison; the new penal code could have given him 30.

As far as I can see, it seems like the legal definition of lèse majesté will be limited to the act of violating or disturbing the work of the King or the Regent. (Article 115.)

Thank you for the useful feedback. I did not notice that article 100 was amended in 1981, and I would need to get an lawbook from 1981 or an earlier year in order to compare the present and the former text.
