Meaning[edit]

what the meaning by this poem?...

television ad[edit]

Category:Welsh poems[edit]

I have corrected this to Category:English poems. Yes, Davies was born in Newport and thus Welsh by birth, although he was only `proud' of this fact when it suited him. In fact he found Welsh people in general "unfriendly", by choice spent most of his adult life away from Wales, and after marrying an English girl, retired to Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. He never spoke Welsh and certainly never wrote in Welsh. The poem, like most of Davies' work, has an universal theme, and not a Welsh one. This is an English poem written by a Welshman.
