Footpads?[edit]

This article says that "Employing a linkboy could be dangerous, as some would lead their clients to dark alleyways, where they could be beset by footpads," but the article about footpads says that the term refers to robbers who do not use force or violence to obtain their loot. This doesn't seem to add up, since the implication is that the employer of the link-boy would be robbed. Maybe the editor of this article just wanted an excuse to say "footpad"? It's kind of fun. It's more probable that the article on footpad needs some work. Footpad, footpad, footpad... Yomanganitalk 19:54, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed - the ideas that footpads have padded feet and don't use force are both wrong - [1] - they are a poor man's version of a (mounted) highwayman, and more violent as a result, as the victim needs to be incapacitated to ensure that the footpads can safely get away on foot. -- ALoan (Talk) 20:12, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Betsy Careless[edit]

Seems to be an unintentional cross of Betsy Thoughtless and Betty Careless:

She's also known as Betsy Careless, so it's not a mistake though perhaps it is the less common nickname. Yomanganitalk 09:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And I've knocked out a quick article on her. Yomanganitalk 11:49, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
