Regions[edit]

In the region column of the table people have added various descriptions of what the general location of the church is. For consistency I think it could be better to use the 5 regions of the diocese

- Northern
- Southern
- Western
- Georges River
- Wollongong

This list could even be divided into five lists for the different sections on different sections of the article, making it easier to find churches in a desired area. Another option which would be more local than the five regions would be to divide into the 18 (original) mission areas of the diocese.

- Upper North Shore
- Lower North Shore
- Warringah
- Ryde
- Hills and Hawkesbury
- Blacktown-Penrith
- Inner West
- Sydney City
- Eastern Suburbs
- Parramatta
- Blue Mountains
- Liverpool
- Canterbury-Bankstown
- St George (a.k.a. Hurstville/Kogarah)
- Sutherland
- Wollongong
- Camden-Campbelltown
- Shoalhaven-Southern Highlands

Lists can be found at http://sydneyanglicans.net/news/archbishop_announces_final_mission_areas/ They have apparently upgraded to 24 regions but I'm struggling to find updated info.

I'm happy to make any of these changes myself, just give me the go ahead! 120.151.30.6 (talk) 08:20, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@99of9:Hey, I'd like to change the region column to the Mission Areas above so that it can be standardised but people can still look for churches within a local area (some of the 5 regions are massive!). Can someone give me permission? (99of9?) Thanks, 120.151.30.6 (talk) 01:51, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this is what I was originally intending acutally, but "region" was apparently too vague. I agree that if you call it "mission area", nobody will just make it up. --99of9 (talk) 03:02, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Newcastle[edit]

another new list ?
List of Anglican churches in the Diocese of Newcastle ? Dave Rave (talk) 06:06, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Dave Rave: If I were doing it now, I'd try putting all of them into Wikidata, and then making the list using Listeria. I haven't tried it before, but it looks like it could be the easiest way to maintain a big list well. --99of9 (talk) 06:45, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Dave Rave: I made one for the diocese of Bathurst that lists service times as well. Bathurst is a smaller diocese, though, which allowed me to make it in a section on the diocese page and include services. The approach for larger dioceses is necessarily different. I welcome a list being made for Newcastle, and would be happy to make a few contributions. I think I might to Canberra/Goulburn or Armidale next if I get the time. if it doesn't have a congregation (Panania is listed), does it mean to add in others that are no longer extant or commissioned ?
