Capitalization question[edit]

@Craigthebirder: Hi Craig, I saw your recent revert and I don't understand. We generally have the first letter capitalized in a list or a title, but not in the middle of a sentence or line. Does that make sense to you? For instance we wouldn't write "The Shy albatross is big", but "the shy albatross is big". Right? Thanks,  SchreiberBike | ⌨  19:15, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Craigthebirder: I got your e-mail. I agree that those are alternate names, but I still don't think we should capitalize them in the middle of a line. I try to follow the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and specifically MOS:LIFE where it says "English vernacular ("common") names are given in lower case in article prose ... and in sentence case at the start of article titles, sentences, headings and other places where the first letter of the first word is capitalized." That way a line would start "*(Southern) royal albatross" meaning that either the words "southern royal albatross" or "royal albatross" can refer to Diomedea epomophora. Thanks.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:17, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Craigthebirder: Got your e-mail and I'm sorry if it feels like I'm nagging, but why still the capitalized "Southern" in the middle of the line? Thanks,  SchreiberBike | ⌨  22:58, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
