The Rocky Horror Picture Show[edit]

in Richard O'Brien's original screenplay, it stated that the beginning of the movie was to be filmed in black & white. As an homage to The Wizard of Oz, it would switch to color when Brad & Janet entered the world of the Transylvanians. For a variety of reasons, this was ultimately decided against. However, it is included as an Easter Egg on the DVD, accessed by scrolling down to "Scene Selection" and pressing the "left" button, which will highlight a pair of lips. The change takes place during the Time Warp, when Riff-Raff & Magenta throw open the doors to the party. --74.178.227.11 (talk) 20:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removing 'Remarks'[edit]

Why are the informative 'Style' or 'Notes or 'Remarks' being deleted and turned into simple binary yes/no acknowledgment of 'Partial color'? Edits like this one and this one are removing good information. I thought the remarks or notes about some of the films were interesting, and helped readers understand the film's place in this list. any 2010 films in black-and-white?[edit]

If so we can add a new section. Tehw1k1 (talk) 21:12, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Mist[edit]

The Mist is not a real black & white film, there is only a black and white version on the DVD. I would insert an indivation for this type of black and white movies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.153.77.124 (talk) 08:13, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier[edit]

I would like this article to go back to 1950 or so, to include films where they chose to make it in B&W when color was available. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 01:32, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • That would make the list way too long. Just counting U.S. and British films, without taking into account the rest of the world, we'd have over 100 B&W entries every year from 1950 to 1963. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 23:38, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is there a similar list of Hollywood films from prior to this? Seems like **Wiki Project Films** should have a comprehensive list of everything produced, ideally with a check box for the media being lost or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1702:1560:A5B0:2090:5E42:1F9D:BAAD (talk) 07:04, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Natural Born Killers[edit]

Natural Born Killers should be be there, cause it's partly black-and-white — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.76.55.166 (talk) 09:19, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What?[edit]

This list does not include The Dead Talk Back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:C8:C001:8A3A:7198:D921:BC53:A1F5 (talk) 20:26, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Giver (2014)[edit]

IMDb entry; its use of colour reminds me of Pleasantville. 2001:44B8:41BD:C401:AA66:7FFF:FE01:C275 (talk) 09:46, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
