Billy Wagner[edit]

Recently an editor, User:WilliamJE removed Billy Wagner from this list, although consistent with the lead (which specifically includes areas nearby), dozens of reliable sources show that he is from the Charlottesville area. Rather than start an edit war, I would ask for input: is there any reason Wagner should not be included on this list? Jacona (talk) 14:07, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For the most obvious reason. The Article says List of people from Charlottesville, Virginia. From the Charlottesville area isn't Charlottesville. Also US Cities guidelines for notable people say born or lived in. And note this page is categorized People from Charlottesville. Not People from the Charlottesville area. Around 10 years ago there were categories made[1] with areas around Foo included. That practice stopped. Only people from Foo go in a category 'People from Foo'. There even exist some sportspeople categories by County. If one existed in this case Wagner would go in the county, not Charlottesville. So should he be indirectly as People from Charlottesville....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 01:17, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Recently featured in Charlottesville's News and Arts Weekly (cville, 26Aug2020-01Sept2020) for his books- "A Murder on Fifth and Dice and the Ruin of Fifeville," "In The Streets of Vinegar Hill," and "Hard Times and Survival: The Autobiography of an African-American Son."
