Need to edit postal codes in the list below[edit]

The list of postal codes is incomplete and actually wrong. It is possible to get the complete list from Russian Postal Service cite - but somebody needs time to edit it all. A complete list of regional codes could be found here: http://indexes.boom.ru/byregion/ They structure has to be changed - as Moscow for instance has a range of postal codes. I am not sure how to edit it the best way.

This list has been neglected for so long that whatever way you choose to edit it, it can only be improved. However, I don't know if the effort is even worthwhile—even if you (or anyone else) list(s) all current postal codes, it is going to be a pain in the rear end to keep the list updated. It's probably good to have a list of ranges by federal subjects or by city/town, but maintaining a more detailed list is probably hopeless.

As for the structure, the U.S. ZIP codes, for example, are listed by range, but nothing prevents you from making two versions—one by range, and the other by federal subject/city. All in all, if you think you have a good idea on how to organize all this mess, be bold and dive right in. Thanks a lot for encouragement - i had to delete many entries as they were referring to nonexistant places regions etc. I am using my own system here, but I hope to bring it up to date some time soon based on the Official Russian system. Time is really not a problem. The article remained in this pitiful condition for at least two years, if I remember correctly. If you wish to spend some time to improve it, that's great—little improvements are always better than none at all. If not, no big deal either.
