Inclusion criteria[edit]

Shall we include C-47s that have been converted to DC-3s? My feeling is that, if we go down that road this list will rapidly become unmanageable. YSSYguy (talk) 01:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Presentation of identities[edit]

Many of these aircraft never actually served with the USAAF, being delivered new to other air forces under Lend-Lease. In those cases, I do not think we should be quoting the USAAF serials for these aircraft. Likewise, if an aircraft was only in the USAAF/USAF for a few years before being passed on to another air arm that operated it for years later and is now displayed as that more-recent identity, I think there is a good case for not using its US serial either. Basler-ized aircraft?[edit]

I only noticed South African information had previously been removed after saving my edit. However, I do not see anyone referring to the SAAF aircraft as BT-67s, so the comment on previous removal could do with some clarification. --41.169.80.41 (talk) 17:03, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Destroyed Aircraft historical value section[edit]

43-49942 Bluebonnet Belle – Highland Lakes Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force in Burnet, Texas. Bluebonnet Belle was destroyed on July 21, 2018 after crashing on takeoff.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

This aircraft may be reconstructed later but its very unlikely. Its body was destroyed from the nose to a few feet in front of the tail section. Question is, should a separate section be created for historical value reference? Kevintampa5^Contact
