CCHT external link[edit]

This link was added to the article after discussion on the WP Reliable Sources Noticeboard. See: WP:RSN exercise. No information from the CCHT link has been put into the body of the article in the form of citations because it has not yet been verified for 100% accuracy by the Victoria County History project for Cumbria. (This will take some years to do). Laplacemat (talk) 10:15, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mining section[edit]

I have a problem with the way the mining section is developing. I am not an expert, but the content seems to be largely about base metal mining in the Lake District, which is not relevant to Little Clifton, where I thought the mining activity concerned coal and ironstone. Accordingly the references to Roman and Norse mining are presumably irrelevant. This information is sourced from sites on Cumbria generally, and the content is probably correct for other places. Can any one provide WP:RS on this kind of mining at Little Clifton? Peterkingiron (talk) 14:07, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blast furnace in 1728[edit]

John_Wilkinson_(industrialist)#Early_life seems to imply there was a blast furnace at/near Little Clifton around 1728. - Rod57 (talk) 10:56, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
