Dropped Forename[edit]

Lloyd Jones was born into an Irish family of Welsh immigrant ancestry but in 1837 dropped his forename, Patrick, as a way of distancing himself from his father..

Did the Patrick come first, or second (immediately before his surname)? It is not clear elsewhere on the page.Cloptonson (talk) 06:43, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

He was born Patrick Lloyd Jones and was known by his middle name Lloyd. But his grandson was also named Patrick so not clear if the reported reason is correct. [User: hpb37]
