M.Z. is exYU[edit]

M.Z. appears in all exYU and Balkan states as lowest-level admin sub-div. It would be for the best if title was ser as Local community (Balkan), with scope reflecting that reality. ౪ Santa ౪99° 03:04, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with this. What are the Balkan countries? Is Romania inclued or not? Do other non-Balkan countries have the same division of their lowest administrative level? This would be too dubious. Also, Croatia had significant reform of its local communities. The best solution would be that each country should have its own article on this subject. This is not unique situation, we have plenty of shared articles based on locality such as Balkans, with countries getting their own sections. So, no, not every country should have its own article if the subject is the same - in this case Mjesna Zajednica whatever translation one choses - that would be outright duplication, forking and undue, and rather sooner than later reviewers would nominate those articles for merging. It doesn't matter what the title ends up being, what matters is that one article is always sufficient to cover several countries on one and same subject. And it doesn't matter if Croatia had reform or not, if country still has Mjesna Zajednica as administrative division, then all other aspects can be explained in its own section within one shared article. It also doesn't matter if one doesn't know if all Balkan countries fit, that's for editors to figure out. Regardless, we are still allowed to choose Local community (Balkans) as a title, so if we opt to use it then we are expected to include all those Balkan countries that have this sort of admin division and give each and every one its own section. Those Balkan countries which don't have it will not get included, of course, but that doesn't mean just because they are there we can't or shouldn't use (Balkans) in title. Another option could be to use language and/or to use native language title since Mjesna Zajednica is quite specific and probably unique for Serbo-Croatian, and means exactly the same thing in at least five exYugoslav republics now countries.. ౪ Santa ౪99° 18:02, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
