Comment[edit]

The "'ravishing daughter' of Mme. Philbert Riviere", would be Mlle Rivière.--Wetman (talk) 20:05, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And so the Louvre & the Guardian call her (spelled in full). [1] Better move it I think. Johnbod (talk) 03:23, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dates[edit]

I'd just approved this for DYK before noticing the Louvre has her death date as 1807, which is more than "a few months" after the portrait, if it is 1805. Can you confirm? The Louvre also says it was in the 1806 Salon. Johnbod (talk) 03:47, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Louvre also states that it was painted in 1806, while the other sources tend for 1805. Rosenblum says "...who died that very year (1805)". That said, This AMS Press, 2002 claims she lived between 1793-1807, and that it was painted in 1806. I go with the Louvre dates, with a clarifier in the notes. Fine, I'll leave it to you. Johnbod (talk) 20:13, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
