Manjo is also the nickname of an instrument built like a banjo in the shape of a Mandoline with double strings ranging from 8 to 10. The purpose of a manjo seems to be that it allows mandoline players to play an instrument with the pitch and more importantly the loudness of a banjo but without having to change their style of playing.
