Factual Corrections

My name is Florian Schaub at Merck KGaA. My aim is to make some changes in this article, because we have identified some misleading information. I have provided clearly arranged suggestions that you can see below on the talk page. They all follow the same pattern:
• Current Version
• Suggested Revision (Suggested changes are bold)
• Reason
• Suggested Reference (if needed)

Please let me know if anyone has concerns.

_Current Text: The Angel Pharmacy in Darmstadt which was owned by the Merck family from 1668; the beginning of the Merck company
Suggested Revision: The Angel Pharmacy in Darmstadt which has been owned by the Merck family since 1668 ; the roots of the science and technology company Merck
Reason: Content suggestion, more accurate description

_Current Text: Merck chemical production plant in Gernsheim, Merck’s second-largest production site
Suggested Revision: Deleting the picture as well as its subtitle
Reason: This information is not true any more and also not relevant to the overall article. It is furthermore not clear which data is used to rank the size of the production site (e.g. square metres, number of employees, volume of sales)
Suggested Reference (if needed): http://www.faz.net/aktuell/wirtschaft/unternehmen/f-a-z-exklusiv-merck-investiert-kraeftig-in-china-14511150.html

_Current Text: Merck visitor centre in Darmstadt
Suggested Revision: Deleting the picture as well as its subtitle
Reason: This information is not true any more. The pyramid no longer exists.
Suggested Reference (if needed): http://www.fr.de/rhein-main/alle-gemeinden/darmstadt/merck-in-darmstadt-die-pyramide-ist-geschichte-a-642405 http://www.echo-online.de/wirtschaft/wirtschaft-suedhessen/merck-investiert-in-darmstadt-bis-2020-eine-milliarde-euro_16221708.htm

_Current Text: In 1668, Friedrich Jacob Merck, an apothecary, assumed ownership of the Engel-Apotheke ("Angel Pharmacy") in Darmstadt, Germany.
Suggested Revision: In 1668, Friedrich Jacob Merck, a pharmacist, assumed ownership of the Engel-Apotheke ("Angel Pharmacy") in Darmstadt, Germany.
Reason: The job title pharmacist is more accurate

I support these edits as policy-compliant and reasonable editorial choices. DMacks (talk) 12:39, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
I had reviewed these earlier and implemented some. WIll do the rest. Some of it is non-encyclopedic. Jytdog (talk) 15:16, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
OK< so
  • first and last changes about Angel Pharmacy, done in part. I left the WL to "apothecary" as that article has historical information, while the pharmacy article is all about contemporary matters. Am not adding the PR stuff about "roots of the science and technology company Merck" - please do not waste our time making suggestions like that.
  • Gernsheim, fine with removing the claim about its size/volume. Merck manufactures chemicals; this is a chemical plant. The picture is entirely relevant.
  • pyramid. was there for about 20 years and apparently a bit of a local landmark. added sourced content about its being built and being torn down, and tweaked the caption. This is a history section. This is part of the history. Jytdog (talk) 16:30, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
