Hill/mountain[edit]

Is 'Mount Mirna' a hill or a mountain? The opening sentence describes it as a hill, whereas the following text as a mountain. The word 'gora' has quite a lot of meanings in Slovene, see SSKJ: a mountain, a hill, a vineyard, a forest in a hilly landscape etc... --Eleassar my talk 10:35, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The distinction is quite subjective (see Hill#Terminology). For convenience, I habitually refer to features under 1000 m as "hills" and those over 1000 m as "mountains" (the English definitions also picked numbers that end with -000 merely for convenience). In any case, the anglicized name should have Mount because of the semantics of the Slovenian name (Mirna gora), regardless of its height. So I'd write "Mount Zbelovo" (Zbelovska gora, 439 m) and "Burnt Hill" (Požgani hrib, 1160 m), for example, as anglicized names regardless of the height.
