I'm sure you're right, but this particular article was created for the Afghani group, branching off the article for Hekmatyar. Masarra 20:57, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Founding Members - to AFGHANLAND[edit]

AFGHANLAND, you added some interesting comments to the end of the article, and I have recently read an account of the origins of the Javanan-i Musliman in `Azzam's "Ayat al-Rahman fi Jihad al-Afghan" which to a certain extent corroborates your comments. In any case, `Azzam puts the founding of the group in 1969 and says its president (ra'is) was the student `Abd al-Rahim Niyazi. `Azzam does, though, say that Sayyaf and Rabbani were the leaders of the group [ وكان يدير الإجتماع سياف ورباني ثم شكل الطلاب جمعية إسلامية باسم (جوانان مسلمان) أي الشباب المسلم عام (1969م) ]. Do you know of other sources that might shed light on this? Thanks. Masarra 20:58, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
