Mustapekka AreenaOulunkylä Stadium – Sponsor names change regularly (about every 10 years). Location + Stadium. Sponsor names should be entered as side notes. Peltimikko (talk) 10:53, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, OP has cited no sources. The possibility of a future renaming is not a consideration; see WP:CRYSTAL. WP:COMMONNAME is the policy. 162 etc. (talk) 15:25, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
City of Helsinki [1], Helsingin Uutiset [2] & Helsingin Sanomat [3]. Oulunkylän jalkapallostadion (direct translation Oulunkylä football stadium). However, Mustapekka Areena is still widely used alone or side with Oulunkylän jalkapallostadion (Gnistan uses both). Finnish Wikipedia uses, Oulunkylän jalkapallostadion. It's probable the name might change sooner or later,[4] but as I was considering the naming earlier, I learned from example of Bolt Arena. The sponsor name of the stadium have changed at least four times. English Wikipedia has the sponsor name, Finnish Wikipedia has the "generic" name fi:Töölön jalkapallostadion. I think both versions, Mustapekka Areena or Oulunkylän jalkapallostadion would work.Syvä-äksy (talk) 21:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)@162 etc.@Adam Black GB@Peltimikko[reply]
  • Oppose, our consideration should be how this stadium is how it's referred to in English. A Google search reveals a total of three results for "Oulunkylä Stadium" -Wikipedia and 14,800 results for "Mustapekka Areena" -Wikipedia with the page language specified as English; a search for "Oulunkylän jalkapallostadion" -Wikipedia for English results returns only two results. It seems clear Mustapekka Areena is the WP:COMMONNAME used in English. Adam Black talkcontributions 19:06, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
...until a new sponsor changes the name again (about every ten years), the search results change too. Because of all this, the press is moving away from these sponsor names towards generic stadium names. Peltimikko (talk) 09:32, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As @162 etc. pointed out, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. If the common name changes in the future, we can move the page then. At the moment, however, this appears to be the best place for the article under Wikipedia naming conventions for all of the reasons already given.
