Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is a large online information website with a worldwide base of members, which deals with a huge amount of information in the artworldRosec92 (talk) 19:17, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosec92: Please provide independent reliable sources indicating that this website is notable per notability guidelines. There are many large websites with many members; that is not enough for a Wikipedia page. 331dot (talk) 19:25, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is MutualArt.com reputable?[edit]

I have my doubts. Since 2010 I have been receiving emails from them but however often I 'unsubscribe' they keep sending them. Their physical address is simply a London mailing address. They have no phone number. Their 'support' email address sends out an automated response with no subsequent follow-up. The website is registered anonymously through GoDaddy. Everything about this website suggests that it is a scam, and I for one would welcome the deletion of this wiki page. StephenJPC (talk) 08:02, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:StephenJPC If you think this page deserves to be deleted, there is a process you can follow. However, the talk page is not a place for your opinion of the company as a whole. In fact, opinion does not belong on WP at all- this is an encyclopedia. So if you have reliable, secondary sources that confirm this website is a scam- by all means, add a section and show that. But your personal opinion does not belong here. I invite you to read Wikipedia:Deletion_policy and follow the appropriate guidelines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nightenbelle (talkcontribs)

FYI: see WP:COIN#MutualArt.com. --Francis Schonken (talk) 17:44, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did see that. Although that have a COI- they also have a point about personal opinion not being appropriate. And when I reviewed the article and this talk page.... I went ahead and nominated it for deletion since it doesn't seem to meet notability atm. So.... all in all- opening a DRN case just alerted someone that there was a page on WP that doesn't need to be on WP. Well done employee! Nightenbelle (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MutualArt and the Artist Pension Trust[edit]

The APT was established in 2004 and is ultimately owned by MutualArt https://www.theguardian.com/money/2009/sep/19/artists-pensions By 2018, things were not looking so rosy https://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/mar/17/art-pension-trust-investment-legal-action-artists Note that, like my earlier reported experience, the Guardian has found MutualArt suspiciously opaque. I find it impossible to believe that this is anything other than a scam StephenJPC (talk) 21:40, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

StephenJPC, if you can show that multiple independent, reliable sources say that MutualArt is a scam, than we can consider including such a claim in the article. Until then, Wikipedia does not call them that. I'll note that some criticism of Artist Pension Trust is present in that article. Vexations (talk) 22:07, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
