His work on Kayasthas[edit]

I have to disagree. The article cited [1] does not imply that. Malaiya (talk) 22:49, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Malaiya, I don't take much pleasure in responding to any kind of POV pushing in these domains, and you have been (hence) alerted of the strict sanction regimes that govern this area.
Note 5 in Pg. 52 mentions:-

Basu wrote several volumes of caste histories of Bengali Brahmins, Kayasthas, and Baidyas. He collected hundreds of family genealogies, and his works contain lengthy quotations from Sanskrit and Bengali texts, and elaborate family trees. While valuable for its rich sources, Basu’s interpretations need to be tempered by the context of the project of indigenous rediscovery of the past, which in his case included an unquestioning acceptance of the Hindu caste hierarchy as a form of social organisation, and a marked antipathy towards Muslim rule in India.

I see. Thanks. I think the statement needs a context. Perhaps I will rephrase the comment by Pagani et al citing it as their opinion. Malaiya (talk) 03:37, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
