Virgilio first to break with 5-7-5?[edit]

The article suggests that Virgilio was the originator of the innovation breaking with the 5-7-5 syllable format for English language haiku. Given that's a substantial claim, can a verifiable citation be found for it? Adding a req cit now. --Yumegusa (talk) 12:03, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
