Question: Should there be a pic of an actual bottle? I've got one on my camera and could upload it if necessary. I think the mug pic is good, but not really a pic of their bottle. Chenzo23 03:57, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pronounciation[edit]

Is it pronounced oh-koh-sim? --Lode Runner 20:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

oh-koh-chim is closer ('ch' as in 'cherry')--Jotel 20:13, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No reason to move the article[edit]

A few days ago this article was moved to Carlsberg Polska. I undid this change for the following reasons:

  • Carlsberg Polska is not the same as Okocim Brewery (Carlsberg owns other breweries in Poland too)
  • there is a substantial difference between a 'facility' (brewery, steel works, coal mine...) and its owner. Okocim Brewery has its own associated bit of history, which remains independent of who owns it today (and may not own it tomorrow). Example: Longbridge plant has its own article, though it went through many changes of ownership in the last decade or so.

Therefore my strong opinion is that the article should not be merged with Carlsberg (or anything else for that matter). --Jotel (talk) 15:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously, Okocim Brewery should be kept as a separate article. It is like merging Zywiec Brewery with Heineken Polska. Or Golden Pheasant with Heineken Slovensko. Tymek (talk) 16:50, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zagloba[edit]

Does Okocim still make Zagloba? I thought they stopped a few years ago. Tymek (talk) 16:51, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, see this page--Jotel (talk) 18:45, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good, I did not even know, I used to drink this brew, and I liked it. Too bad they changed the label, the old one was much better. Tymek (talk) 18:52, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merged[edit]

I have again merged this article to the parent article. Okocim is not an independent company, it is a brand name and a brewing plant operated by Carlsberg Polska. The way it operates is that brands within Carlsberg Polska may be brewed at any of the three Poland plants depending on supply demands, though Okocim is mainly used for Okocim brands as well as the Karmi brand. I am quite happy to discuss this if anyone disagrees. SilkTork *YES! 08:43, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
