The history of Parkfield High School can be traced back to April 1962, when Parkfield Secondary Modern School was opened on Lawnswood Avenue by Coseley UDC, to replace the cramped Manor Secondary School as the secondary modern school for children aged 11 and above living in the north of the town. The Manor buildings were re-opened in September 1962 as a primary school for children aged 5-11 years and remains in existence today.

However, this section of Coseley was incorporated into the borough of Wolverhampton under local government reorganisation in April 1966, and the school's status changed to comprehensive in the 1970s, around the same time that further buildings were added. Most of the main buildings were remodelled in the late 1970s and early 1980s due to structural problems.

The school at Bilston was opened around 1930 as Stonefield Secondary School, later adopting the name Hall Green High School during the 1970s, before becoming Bilston High School during the 1980s and merging with Parkfield High School during the 1990s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SkellyLifeP (talk • contribs) 19:34, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
