Correct name?[edit]

It appears that this village is more normally called Paleo Loutro. Not sure if the difference is down to modern vs archaic spelling, but shouldn't the article have the same title as the village does on modern maps? --Malleus Fatuorum 15:26, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Seem to be alternative names for the same place, so I've updated the article to say that. --Malleus Fatuorum 16:16, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Palaio" seems to be a 'transliteration' of the Greek written name (map each letter of the Greek alphabet to one or more Roman letters); while "Paleo" may be a ('phonetic') 'transcription' of the way the name is pronounced in Greek (map each Greek phoneme to one or more Roman letters). Ditto for Messenia/Messinia. I don't know which scheme is to be used in Wikipedia titles. All the best, --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 13:46, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Population figures[edit]

I've added an infobox with geographical co-ordinates so as to avoid the earlier confusion with Loutro, Messenia but the latest population figures I could find in English were for 1991. Can someone who reads Greek follow the link and update the stats? --Malleus Fatuorum 16:15, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
