Untitled[edit]

Hi, I just started this article having seen it doesn't exist. It's just personal experience being chilean to know what it is, but other cultures have their own versions, and I have no references on the flamenco peña or what the origins of the concept are. In Chile it was a cheap way to get an open mike night together, often just by buying cheap wine or cooking some beans, and letting musicians step up and play. The last paragraph has no reference, but there are many "Peñas" around the world if you do a search around the internet, and the latin american influenced ones tend to follow the chilean or Nueva Cancion model, where the flamenco influenced ones are clubs where flamenco is played, usually starting their lives in the early 70s.

Please don't delete this stub! If it needs work, let me know and I'll go out and research it at the local library.
