The text states (like the French version of the article) that the Pertes du Rhône were north of Bellegarde. However, the river passes south of the city. Can anybody explain this discrepancy? --Sbjoern (talk) 15:39, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the text is in error. Some research of old maps and postcards shows that the Pertes du Rhone were just upstream of Bellegarde, above the point where Rue de la Perte du Rhone runs towards the river. Old texts available online place les Pertes downstream of the hamlet of Vanchy but above the confluence of the Rhone and the Valserine. In compass terms, that's roughly southeast or east-southeast of the centre of Bellegarde. 5.71.89.79 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 21:35, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
