'Units included in the OPK bodies'

Rocket Forces and WOPK Artillery

Dear B.Velikov, what was the source for the 1989 listing of units? Buckshot06 (talk) 15:50, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Polish wiki. I started with the table in the https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojska_Obrony_Powietrznej_Kraju article as a base point. I then checked the articles about the various units and formations. This is where I found out about the transformation of the missile air defence divisions into brigades and the honorific titles of the units and also the disbanded fighter air regiments. I found the info abot the EW units in a Polish article online: https://www.cyberdefence24.pl/walka-elektroniczna-w-silach-zbrojnych-iii-rp As for changing the security unit to a supply unit, Google translate does this by default. In Russian language the term for logistics is обеспечение. The countries, that have followed the Soviet military traditions have used similar translations as Sicherstellung in German and zabezpieczenie in Polish. Google translates it as security, but the correct translation is provision, as in providing supplies and support services. I am just not sure about 4th Air Base. I am 100% certain, that it was in Warsaw. Just not sure it was in Okęcie. There is a slight possibility, that it was in Bemowo, which was the base of the Ministry of the Interior's aviation. The liaison air squadrons are listed as el (Eskadra lotnicza or simply air squadron), but were actually designated Eskadra lotnicza łączności (liaison air squadron).
