First gen related to Corvair?[edit]

I don't think that the 1961-63 Pontiac Tempest, Buick Special and Oldsmobile F-85 were at all related to the Chevrolet Corvair. The Chevy Corvair had an air-cooled engine in the back, whereas the Buick Special, Olds F-85 and Pontiac Tempest all had water-cooled engines in the front, in my mind, that's not possible. Furthermore, the Chevy Corvair was built on the GM Z platform while the other three were based on the GM Y platform. I would like someone else to explain how the Corvair could possibly be related to the "firs gen" Tempest, F-85 and Special.--Kevjgav (talk) 10:50, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, the Y platform was an evolution of the Corvair's Z platform. With regards to the first-generation Pontiac Tempest and its rear-mounted transaxle, it featured "swing axle" rear suspension like the Corvair, although I'm not sure if any production Corvair components were used.156.57.11.209 (talk) 22:37, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2nd and 3rd gen production years[edit]

I was noticing it says both the 2nd and 3rd gen were produced until 1970. I was wondering what's the deal with this? Was the restyle for 1968 for the whole model lineup or just the 2-door? Because in the infoboxes both the 2nd and 3rd gen have 2 and 4 door models listed. I'm no expert on this but it seems like something that should receive some attention.
