Definition[edit]

Where is the definition of what a pouf is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.116.159.44 (talk) 13:11, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...and is it a contemporary designation, with this Anglicised spelling of pouffe?--Wetman (talk) 20:37, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The OED gives "pouffe" and "pouff" as alternative spellings and the definition: "1. a. A kind of elaborate female head-dress fashionable late in the 18th century." --Robert.Allen (talk) 18:27, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"six feet high"[edit]

So doubtful except in a political caricature.--Wetman (talk) 20:37, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
