Russophilia/Pro-Russian[edit]

Archives908 Russophilia is used as a common term regarding the parties that are positively orientated towards the Russian government, in the case of usage of that term majority of political parties have the term "Russophilia" instead of "Pro-Russia" or "Pro-Russian" in the infobox. The term "Pro-Europeanism" is used for parties that support the country's accession into the European Union while the term "Atlanticism" is used for pro-western orientated parties. Consistency, in this case, would be the common usage of "Russophilia" to meet the WP:COMMONNAME criteria, while "pro-Russian" doesn't suit that and is less used. --Vacant0 (talk) 17:26, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source(s) for all your claims about the specific terminologies? Pro-Russian redirects to Russophilia so either can be used. The term is interchangeable, and from what I can see, "Pro-Russian" is actually used more frequently then Russphilia. As for the usage of "Pro-Europeanism", your statement is untrue. There are numerous political parties throughout Europe that consider themselves "Pro-European" and wish to have closer economic/political relations with the EU, but do not call for outright/immediate accession. You can maintain a "Pro-European" stance without explicitly wanting to join the EU. They are not mutually exclusive. Archives908 (talk) 17:37, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Both terms are correct, that's true, but as I've already said "Russophilia" is used much more than "Pro-Russia" in the infoboxes. Just because the term "Pro-Russian" is used in the infoboxes for political parties in Armenia, it doesn't mean that it's also used on every other page, since it isn't. See PSRM, Party of Regions, Belaya Rus etc. --Vacant0 (talk) 17:48, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There is no absolute data to quantify/verify that claim and I've never suggested changing every single political party to one or the other. Rather, we should not favour one or the other (at least for this case). The vast majority -if not all- Armenian political parties already use the term "Pro-Russian". Since both terms are correct, and for consistency sake, the status quo should be maintained. Regards, Archives908 (talk) 18:43, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
